Turnhouse Edinburgh Airport — The main terminal has been open since 1977. All airlines operate from this terminal. There are two floors to the building. Arrivals (both UK and International) are situated on the ground floor.
Check-in desks and baggage reclaim are also situated on the ground floor. All departure gates are located on the first floor of the terminal building.
Location — The airport is situated 12km (8 miles) west of Edinburgh.

Driving Directions : Road access to the airport is easy from the two-level junction on the A8 midway between the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.
If approaching from the Edinburgh side join the A8 from the city bypass and proceed towards Glasgow. From the North and West you should join the A8 at the Newbridge roundabout and proceed towards Edinburgh. Follow signs for airport.

Public Transport — #Rail : Edinburgh’s main railway station (Waverley) is in the city centre and can be reached by taxi or bus.
From here there are services to Glasgow and a variety of other destinations in Scotland and England. Most train services also operate from Haymarket station which is on the main bus route between the airport and city centre.
— #Bus : Frequent bus services run from the bus station outside Domestic Arrivals to the central bus terminus at Waverley Bridge, also stopping at Haymarket rail station. Bus 35 operates from Ocean Terminal via the city centre to the airport.
–# Shuttle Bus : Edinburgh Shuttle provides a fleet of spacious seven seat mini-coaches and runs every 15 minutes between the airport and Edinburgh Shuttle’s City zone with pick up and drop off at any address – home, hotel, business or conference venue.

Many attractions can easily be reached such as the castle, zoo of Edinburgh and the University campus buildings.
