Paris - Railway Station Gare du Nord - France :

Paris Train Station Gare du Nord -- Gare du Nord major train station is located in the North of Central Paris with high speed train towards Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam (Thalys) and towards London (eurostar). There is a direct metroline (4 Porte d'Orleans) towards Gare Montpasnasse.

The Gare du Nord (meaning Northern Station) is one of the six large terminus railway stations of the SNCF's main line network in Paris France. It offers connections with several urban transportation lines (Paris Metro and RER) By number of travellers (around 180 million per year), it is the busiest SNCF station, and probably the third busiest train station in the world.

The newly refurbished Eurostar Paris terminal is located on the first floor of the Gare du Nord station in central Paris. As it's in the city centre, Paris Gare De Nord is well connected for exploring the rest of the city and this is always well worth taking in to account when you are comparing Eurostar fares and timetables with other means. As a major national and international station, Eurostar Paris Gare De Nord terminal has all the facilities you expect in a major airport, including plenty of hotels nearby, currency exchange, internet access, and a range of car hire operators.

The quay of the line towards Belgium, controlled by the Rothschild Group and inaugurated in 1846 (Leonce Reynaud, architect - Bréville, engineer), was already insufficient around 1854. This station was shown too small for the traffic growing, which became obvious when the procession of the Victoria queen has dü to be directed towards the Station of the East.

Paris has six major train stations -- in the city centre serving both domestic and international destinations.

Gare du Nord Train station is the hub for trains traveling from the U.K., Northern France and Northern Europe. The Eurostar train arrives at Gare du Nord from London.

Gare de Lyon is the railway station for trains from Lyon, Aix en Provence, Marseille, the French Riviera, Geneva, and Italy. Many of the trains arriving at Gare de Lyon are bullet trains. For example, you can get from Lyon to Paris in 2 hours and from Marseille to Paris in 3 hours.

Gare d'Austerlitz train station serves destinations in southwestern France (Toulouse, Bordeaux), the Loire Valley, and Spain.

Gare Saint-Lazare rail station serves Normandy (central Northern France) and England (non-Eurostar).

Gare de l'Est is the hub for trains coming from Eastern France (Strasbourg, Alsace), parts of Germany, Luxembourg, and central Eastern Europe.

Gare Montparnasse railway station is mostly reserved for bullet trains serving Nantes and Bordeaux.

Air Connections -- Paris is served by two major airports: Orly Airport, which is south of Paris, and the Charles de Gaulle International Airport, nearby Roissy-en-France, which is one of the busiest in the world. The fourth airport, Le Bourget nowadays only hosts business jets, air trade shows and the aerospace museum.
