Paris Train Station Gare Montparnasse -- Gare Montparnasse major train station is located in the Southern part of the city accross the Seine river in the Montparnasse area, in the XIVe arrondissement of Paris, France. There is a direct metroline (4 Porte d'Clingoutant) towards the North Station. Here many trains towards everyrthing west of Paris towards the Atlantic Ocean (Brest).

The station is used for the trains to West and South West France, and the TGV to Tours, Bordeaux, Nantes. There is also a metro station. There is a high-speed travelator on trial. You have easy access to Paris Orly airport. The Metro station at the Gare Montparnasse provides easy access to all areas of Paris.

Originally the Paris Montparnasse Railway Station was a transfer point between Line 4 and Line 12 metro lines. Later in the 1930's a corridor was built connecting the two stations. Currently the walkway connecting the stations is considered the fastest moving walkway in the world.

The streets around the Gare Montparnasse still bear the names of the initial destinations: Avenue of Maine, Street of Rennes. One of the oldest rail stations of Paris (1840), it was completely rebuilt after the 2nd World war.
