London - St Pancras Railway Station - International Eurostar Terminal - England UK:

London St Pancras Train Station -- London St Pancras International Train Station is located at the heart of Central London with more underground connections than any other London train station. There are three main services from the station - East Midlands trains, Eurostar and First Capital Connect.

London St. Pancras station was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on November 6, 2007. It has been restored to the striking glass and steel ‘cathedral’ that it was over a hundred and fifty years ago. It is Europe’s largest engineering project, completed on time and on budget. The officials in charge of the building of the new St. Pancras have said some of their inspiration for the interior came from the restoration of Grand Central Terminal in New York in the 1990’s, which is not only a railway station but a place to visit.

St Pancras International train station offers a range of shops, bars and restaurants, unlike anything ever seen in a UK station.

St Pancras International is served by the Northern, Victoria, Piccadilly, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines.

Eurostar Trains -- The brand-new central London Eurostar terminal is pretty swish. This newly renovated Victorian station is a destination in its own right with boutique shopping and the Europe's longest champagne bar.

Journey times from London. London to Paris (Disneyland Paris) 2 hours 15 minutes, London to Brussels 1 hour 51 minutes, London to Lille 1 hour 20 minutes.

St Pancras Eurostar station destination station has replaced Waterloo as the home of Eurostar trains in the heart of London.

Time zone -- GMT (GMT + 1 from last Sunday in March to last Sunday in October)

Currency -- The British monetary system is based on the pound sterling (GBP), £.

Language -- In Britain, the main language is English (British English). It is not the same as American or Australian English.

Electricity -- 240V, 50Hz

Air Connections -- London is a major international air transport hub. No fewer than eight airports use the words London Airport in their name, but most traffic passes through one of five major airports. London Heathrow Airport is the busiest airport in the world for international traffic, and is the major hub of the nation's flag carrier, British Airways. On completion of the fifth terminal, due for 2008, Heathrow will once again be the world's busiest airport, and will handle a mixture of full-service domestic, European and inter-continental scheduled passenger flights. Plans are alreay being considered for a sixth terminal, to the disapproval of residents near to the airport and to its take-off and landing corridors.Similar traffic, with the addition of some low-cost short-haul flights, is also handled at London Gatwick Airport. London Stansted Airport and London Luton Airport cater mostly for low-cost short-haul flights. London City Airport, the smallest and most central airport, is focused on business travellers, with a mixture of full service short-haul scheduled flights and considerable business jet traffic.
