Vicarage Road Football Stadium - Watford FC - Watford

Vicarage Road Football Stadium -- The ground has had both ends re-developed during the 1990's along with the front of the Rous stand. Both ends are large single tiered stands, with some strange looking floodlights perched on the roof. There is just one side that lets the ground down. The East Stand is a mish mash of a couple of old stands and an open seated area in one corner. Otherwise there is a vast improvement from the Vicarage Road of old. Away supporters used to have a long walk to the away end as you had to walk around some allotments. However this is no longer the case, as away fans are now housed in the Vicarage Road Stand, previously the home end, at the opposite end of the ground. There is a large video screen in the corner between the Rous & Vicarage Road Stands. Vicarage Road is shared with Saracens rugby club.

Directions -- # Car: From the North:
Join the M25 and follow until Junction 20. Exit and follow signs for Hempstead Road, follow Hempstead Road into central Watford. Follow the large roundabout system at the end of Hempstead Road and exit towards Rickmansworth A412. Follow this road for 1/4 Mile and turn left at the end of the underpass. Go through two traffic lights and turn left into "The Hornets" at the East end of Vicarage Road.
From the South:
Join the M25 and head north past M4/Heathrow, then past the M40 Oxford Exit at Junction 16. Take the exit at Junction 18. The slip road goes up to a bridge going across the motorway, turn left towards Rickmansworth. Head down into Rickmansworth until you arrive at a large roundabout near Rickmansworth BR station. Turn left here along the A412 towards Watford. Follow signs into Croxley Green. At the two large roundabouts outside the Croxley Industrial Estate hang a left onto Vicarage Rd.

# Nearest tube station: Watford Met (20 minute walk from ground). Walk 50 metres straight in front of you, turn right into Shepherds Road, at bottom of Shepherds road turn left into Rickmansworth Road, cross the road and turn right into Harwoods Road at the bottom of Harwoods Rd the Vicarage Road stadium awaits.
# Nearest National rail stations: Watford Junction (10 mins from ground). Walk down Clarendon Road and then follow signposts in the town centre.

Air Connections : Regular and frequent bus and coach services connect Watford Junction station to Heathrow Airport and Luton Airport, direct train services run from Watford Junction Station to Gatwick and Birmingham International Airport.
