Stade de Suisse Football Stadium Wankdorf -- Stade de Suisse Wankdorf stadium (capacity 32,000). The Stade de Suisse was built on the site of the old Wankdorf stadium. The original stadium was the venue of the 1954 World Cup final (the so- called "Miracle of Bern", when Germany defeated Hungary) and was demolished in 2001 and rebuilt, opening again in July 2005. The stadium has solar panels in the roof supplying much of the stadium's power needs.

A unique feature of the Stade de Suisse is a single, red seat set amongst the normal black and yellow seats (the team colors of Young Boys). This seat was the first seat installed at the new stadium and is reserved for visiting celebrities, often those with ties to the club. Apartments, a shopping center, restaurants and a school are integrated into the stadium site, which is approximately 3km from Bern city center.

Opened -- Its a fairly new stadium as they they started to build it in 2003 but actually opened in 2005.

Directions -- # Train: There is an S-Bahn suburban station at the stadium - Wankdorf Bahnhof. # Bus/Tram: Number #28 (from Eigerplatz) or #20 (from the main station). Buses #40 and #41 come in to the stadium area from the north. Tram Line #9 from the Old Town runs just to the south of the stadium. The stadium is south of the A6 highway.

Air Connections : Bern Airport: The aiport is about 8 miles by road from the Stade de Suisse, Wankdorf and about 6 miles to the centre of Bern.
