Stade de Geneve Football Stadium - Servette FC- Switzerland

Stade de Geneve Football Stadium -- Stade de Genève is a stadium in the greater Geneva, Switzerland area (located in Lancy, south of the city). It has a capacity of 30,084. The stadium was completed in 2003 after nearly three years of construction. Normally the home venue of Geneva’s Servette FC, a Swiss football team, the stadium hosted international friendlies between Argentina and England on November 12 2005, which England won 3-2 and between New Zealand and Brazil on June 4, 2006, which Brazil won 4-0.

The stadium was completed in 2003 after a construction period of nearly three years and at a cost of 135 million Swiss francs. The adjacent La Praille shopping and leisure centre opened a few months earlier, in November 2002.

The design of the stadium is like many modern bowl-type stadia, with no outstanding features.  Sightlines, however, are good from all sides.

Opened -- opened in 2003 and the home ground of Servette FC.

Location -- The stadium is to the southwest of the city centre.  It is located alongside the Voie Centrale and right next to the La Praille shopping and entertainment centre, built as part of the same development.

It is located in the Lancy area of the La Praille district of Geneva on the site of a former slaughterhouse.
