The Riverside Football Stadium -- Built in only 32 weeks, the Riverside Stadium was the first stadium designed and constructed to comply with the Taylor Report.
Opened on August 26 1995, the capacity is 35,100. The stadium represents a proud and bold statement of Middlesbrough Football Club's progressive thinking as well as its vision for the future.
Along with the Transporter and Newport bridges, the Riverside Stadium has become one of the landmarks of the Middlesbrough skyline, towering over the Tees, east of the city centre.

Leave A1 at Dishforth. Take A168 which then leads you to the A19.
Continue along the A19. At A66 junction follow signs for for Middlesbrough.
Pass Middlesbrough town centre on raised section of the dual carriageway following signs for Redcar, Grangetown, Teesport.
You will then see the stadium on the left hand side. Take the slip road signposted (in brown) Riverside Stadium off the A66. Keep in your left-hand lane up the slip road and turn left at the traffic lights at the top of it. The stadium is in front of you just to the right.
