The Worthersee Stadion is the name of two multi-use stadiums in Klagenfurt, Austria. The old one had a capacity of 11,500 and was demolished in 2005. It will able to hold 32,000 people for the 2008 European Football Championship.

The Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt stands out from all the other stadiums of EURO 2008 with its dramatic architecture. The team of architects wanted to build a compact stadium that would perfectly blend and tie in with the superb lake and Alpine landscape. And they achieved their goal - the stadium has already become the city's new landmark and has been affectionately dubbed the "UFO" by the people of Klagenfurt, who have shown immense commitment to it both during and after construction.

Location -- The football stadium is located in the South of Klagenfurt, in the district Waidmannsdorf. The stadium was built for the Football EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland and should offer space for 32.000 people.

The Wörthersee Stadium is located close to the borders of Carinthia with Friuli-Julia Venetia and Slovenia, on a superb site between the city of Klagenfurt and the banks of lake Wörthersee. Surrounded by meadows and hills, with the Karawanken mountains as a backdrop - there can be no more spectacular location for a new football stadium anywhere.
