JJB Football Stadium -- The Stadium is constructed on a footprint covering 38,700m² not including car parks and access roads. The Stadium design is based on canter-levered prefabricated steel roof and terrace structuring and the maximum seating capacity is 25135. The pitch is a state of the art design and construction utilising a sand based matrix which contains an irrigation and under soil heating system. The pitch itself is a natural grass pitch with a 2% synthetic fibre infusion which helps to stabilise the pitch profiles.

Location -- Wigan Athletic plays their home matches at the JJB Stadium. The ground is located in the Robin Park district of Wigan. The city is situated not far from Manchester, Liverpool and Preston. Directions -- # Car: From the South:
Leave the M6 at Junction 25. At the end of the slip road turn left at the roundabout onto the dual carriageway heading into Wigan. Follow the carriageway (A49) for approx. 2 miles to the crossroads controlled by traffic lights next to the Fire Station and opposite ASDA. Turn left and follow the road to the traffic lights opposite the Rover dealer. Turn right at the lights into Stadium Way, past the JJB Soccer Dome.

From The North:
Leave the M6 at Junction 26 and follow the signs for Wigan town centre (this road meets the A49) then turn left into Robin Park and continue into Scot Lane. The ground is down Scot Lane on your right.

# Bus : Wigan has a good local bus system that can be used to get around town or to Manchester and Liverpool. To reach JJB Stadium from the center of Wigan, take the 352, 395, or 610 bus. They will drop you off right at the stadium.

#By Train : There are two train stations in Wigan, both are located on the southern fringe of the city. Frequent trains arrive from and depart to Manchester and Liverpool.

Air Connections : Manchester International Airport (Airport Code: MAN) is the largest airport in England outside of London and with direct train service between it and Wigan, it is the most convenient place to fly to if you are planning on catching a game at JJB Stadium.
