Estadio Jose Alvalade Football Stadium -- The Estádio José Alvalade is the new home of Sporting Lisbon and built alongside Sporting's old stadium. The US$89m project is part of a larger development incorporating a shopping complex, a bowling alley, a multiplex cinema and numerous restaurants. The stadium was designed by architect Tomás Taveira who also worked on other Euro 2004 stadiums in Portugal. The vibrant colors (mainly green and yellow) and wave-like roof are features of the new stadium.

- If you are going to the south end, turn off at Campo Grande

The Yellow & Green Line have stations at the Campo Grande interface right opposite the Alvalade XXI complex.

Estádio José Alvalade is in the north of Lisbon near the university area. Reached by metro to Campo Grande station or buses 1 or 36 from Rossio; buses 3, 77 and 106 also run to Campo Grande.

Getting to Estádio José Alvalade is easy by Metro. The stop is Campo Grande (last stop going north on the yellow and the green lines).There are 8 stops on the yellow line and from the southernmost stop (Rato) it takes 12 minutes to reach Campo Grande. From Cais do Sodre on the green line it takes about 20 minutes to reach Campo Grande (12 stops). From Apolonia railway station, take the blue line 5 stops and change at Marques de Pombal for the yellow line, from where it is 6 stops (10 minutes) to Campo Grande. Alternatively, change at the second stop on the blue line, Baixa Chiado, and take the green line to Campo Grande (10 stops/15 minutes).

The large new Campo Grande stadium complex is immediately visible on leaving the station and the stadium complex is clearly sign posted.
