Edinburgh -- Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, its second largest city after Glasgow which is situated 45 miles (72 km) to the west.

Located in the south-east of Scotland, Edinburgh lies on the east coast of Scotland's Central Belt, along the Firth of Forth, near the North Sea and is one of the world's greatest cities. It's a small, pedestrian-friendly city.

The city with its seven hills is of course characterised by Edinburgh Castle which is Great Britain’s most visited tourist attraction. The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was developed from the 11th century, originally within defensive walls, around the rock on whose peak is situated the famed Edinburgh Castle.

Air Connections -- Edinburgh is served by Edinburgh Airport (EDI), located about 8 miles (13 km) to the west of the city, with scheduled connections to many cities in Europe and an expanding international long-haul route network, including daily flights to New York (JFK and Newark) and summer services to Toronto.
