Venice Lido -- Venice Lido is the quiet, peaceful and green thin island that stretches between open sea and lagoon, which is only 10 minutes away from St. Mark's square (Piazza San Marco) , both by public or private transportation, or 30 min. by ferryboat's ride leaving from Tronchetto. Lido is also known as the golden island of Venice.
Venice Lido is a enjoyable seaside resort of the whole upper Adriatic Sea, just because its beach is spread all along its 12-km length.

Lido is one of the few places in Venice (other than the mainland) that allows car traffic. Boat 17 is a car and passenger ferry that connects Venice's Tronchetto parking island with the Lido. The boat lands at San Nicolò, a few blocks above the Lido's central city business district. You'll need to turn right after you leave the ferry and drive through the central area to reach most of the Lido's resorts and hotels.

Some airlines market Treviso Airport in Treviso, 20km from Venice, as a Venice gateway.
