Downtown City Centre Helsinki - Central Helsinki - Finland :

Helsinki City Centre -- The central hub of Helsinki is around the bustling seafront Kauppatori (Market Square). Here, locals gather to lunch, shop for fresh fish and vegetables and buy produce from the market stalls.
From this point, the architectural heart of Helsinki, Senaatintori (Senate Square), is a five-minute walk away. The best overview of the city is from its tallest building, Hotel Torni, from where it is easy to see Helsinki's most noted landmarks.
These include Alvar Aalto's Finlandia Hall and Steven Holl's Kiasma - the curvaceous contemporary art gallery. A good way for tourists to get orientated and see the sights is to hop on tram 3T, which takes in most of the main attractions.

There is quite a bit to see and do in Helsinki so you’ll want to make lots of time for enjoying it. From beautiful beaches to fantastic pieces of architecture there is no end to the enjoyment you will have getting to know the city of Helsinki. There are great tours that can take you around if you prefer to have a guide along. That way as you go around the city admiring the sights you’ll learn a lot of information from the guide, too. Remember if you are visiting in Winter, there are tremendous winter sports available just on the outskirts of Helsinki. Excellent ski and other winter sport facilities are to be found at the Serena Ski complex just over 20 kms outside the city.

Try out the island Iso Vasikkasaari. Spend the afternoon in the sun and fun. While you’re in Helsinki it is highly recommended that you take The Lakes and Forests. You’ll see lots of beautiful scenery along the way.
