Budapest City Centre -- Budapest is rich in UNESCO World Heritage sites: the view of the Danube embankments, the Buda Castle District, Andrássy Avenue with Heroes’ Square and the Millennium Underground Railway are now internationally protected areas of the Hungarian capital.

An early form of the „Museum Mile" concept, popular in some U.S. cities, had been brought to life in Budapest when a massive, simultaneous construction boom has allowed architects and decision makers to concert their efforts between 1860 and 1910. In Budapest, the acronym is „Cultural Avenue" rather than Museum Mile, because the cultural attractions that belong to it aren't all located within the same street or quarter, but are along a vertical axis, comprising the Buda Castle District, Andrássy Avenue and the City Park.

Currency -- Money in Hungary comes in the form of the Hungarian Forint (Ft) = 100 fillér. Notes are in denominations of Ft20,000, Ft10,000, 5000, 2000, 1000, 500 and 200. Coins are in denominations of Ft100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1. A large number of commemorative coins in circulation are legal tender.
Language -- Hungarian (Magyar) is the official language. German and English are widely spoken. Some French is also spoken, mainly in western Hungary.
Electricity -- 220 volts AC, 50Hz. European-style two-pin plugs are used.
Air Connections -- Budapest Ferihegy International Airport, which has 3 different passenger terminals: Ferihegy 1, which tends to serve the many discount airlines now flying to and from Budapest, Ferihegy 2/A and Ferihegy 2/B. Terminal 2/C is planned to be built. The airport is located to the east of the centre in the XVIII. district in Pestszentlőrinc. Malév (Hungarian Airlines) began to change its aircraft in 2003, and by 2005 owned the most modern fleet in Europe.
