Rome Ciampino Airport -- Ciampino airport is Rome's second airport. It used to be Rome's only airport before the construction of the Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino, to the west. Ciampino has risen into the public eye because over 100 airlines now use the busy Ciampino airport, many of them budget airlines. Ryan Air and Easy Jet both fly into Ciampino.

There are cash machines, a bank (Banca di Roma), a money exchange office and a post office. The Ciampino airport is filled with great shops, bars and restaurants, and if passengers don't have the time to visit the central city of Rome, they can do a spot of window-shopping, have a drink or two, or enjoy a fine meal.

Rome has two airports. Leonardo da Vinci Airport ( Fiumicino Airport ) is used by the major airlines, while Ciampino Airport is used by budget airlines Easyjet and Ryanair.

Location -- The Ciampino Intl. Airport is located about 15 kilometers or 9 miles southeast of the city centre of Rome in Italy.

Driving Directions : Ciampino is 15 kilometers southeast of the city centre of Rome and not far from the ring road around the Italian capital, the Grande Raccordo Anulare – GRA. From the ring road you take exit 23. You drive via Appia Nuova directly to the Ciampino airport (direction ‘Castelli Romani’).
